Welcome to the 2020 Spring Season!
A message from Board President Jeremy Harrison
Hello Tracy Express Families, my name is Jeremy Harrison and I am your new Tracy Express President for the 2020 season.
First let me thank you for being part of the Tracy Express family as we would be nothing without you the community of Tracy. I’ve served on the board in different capacities over the last 4 years learning from past President’s David Duncan, Eric Schuller, and Josh Chiulli, whom I thank for all they’ve done to grow the league and set us on our current path. I’ve worked with great board members who give so freely of their time to ensure your family have a great experience. I wish I could name them all but I’m sure I’d lose you quickly.
Let me just say that while not all ideas are a homerun, they are born out of a passion for making it the best experience for all player as they grow their love of softball! This year in response to the survey conducted at the end of last season we have brought out more changes that I hope your family will enjoy! Parents who suggested better coaching please understand that as a volunteer organization we have to be so appreciative of whomever steps up of their time and whatever experience they have big or small. To help though we’ve put our coaches through a coach’s clinic to share ideas and techniques of the game as well as providing an assortment of clinics put on by professional coaches through All American Sports Academy.
To the parents who did not feel comfortable with the division alignments with 9-year-old playing with girls 11-12, we’ve committed to proper USA age divisions so your daughters can learn and grow in confidence with girls their own age. Along with that we’ll require them to play an infield position for every two innings in the outfield if desired! This is recreational ball and we expect girls to be given opportunities to learn and grow in the game in various positions. This is all done to enhance the playing experience while teaching hard work, teamwork, and community.
Finally we look forward to our first fundraising bbq dinner on 5/2/20 at the Portuguese Hall @ 6pm. Not only will this raise money for the league but also give us a chance to come together as a community for a great cause! Money raised will continue to be put back in the league providing better playing equipment, fields, and training opportunities like the ones we did this year without having to adjust registration cost. I cannot wait to see you all opening day for our 31st season, and please feel free to stop me and say hi, give suggestions, and I’d love to have you join me on the board as we guide this league into the future.
Thank you,
Jeremy Harrison
